Watt Electric Vehicle Company’s Passenger And Commercial EV Skateboard (PACES) modular architecture can be applied to almost any size or shape of EV – across FWD, RWD and AWD layouts – and is capable of complying with National and European Small Series Type Approval standards.  

The key to PACES’ capability is its innovative, multi material, primary structure, featuring an integrated cell to chassis battery system allowing the entire platform to be lightweight and structurally efficient.

Aluminium skateboards used by high volume OEM's use bespoke, complex and expensive extrusions and castings. PACES is composed of novel lightweight extrusions and precision laser cut components that interlock and bond together in an innovative single stage coat and cure process, a patent protected chassis architecture system called FlexTech. PACES vehicle platforms are low cost, structurally efficient and very accurate, requiring little upfront investment in expensive tooling or post-assembly machining, reducing manufacturing cost.

WEVC’s Passenger And Commercial EV Skateboard (PACES) can support a broad range of future niche EVs. It is flexible, scaleable, lightweight and cost effective, an adaptable bonded aluminium platform specifically designed for low volume manufacture. It can be applied to almost any EV and is capable of complying with National and European Small Series Type Approval standards.  

Our own Coupe

Watt Electric Vehicle Company’s own Coupe is the first passenger vehicle to use the new technology.

Thanks to our innovative architecture, we have been able to keep the Coupe’s weight to a minimum – under 1,000kg – yet we have also structurally-integrated a 40kWh battery into the chassis and exceeded all EUSSTA safety and crash testing standards, while also achieving near 50:50 weight distribution.
